Browser Cache
Do you know that every time you surf the Internet, your computer stores files full of information about your every step? One type of history tracks stored by your computer is called browser cache. Cache could store graphic, web page, cookies, video file etc. Cache files are stored to make your surfing more convenient so that the next time you visit the web site associated with that cache file, the page will load faster. When you view a web page with lots of images, multimedia effects or text, your web browser has to load each one over the Internet. So it could be really irritating to wait for a web page to load all the content. Cache provides quicker web browsing.
But despite of cache provides more convenient surfing, it could be also a security risk as anyone who has access to your computer and open your Temporary Internet files would be able to see everything you had seen in your recent Internet sessions - all pictures, video, text and more you had seen it.
How to erase cache
One way to maintain your privacy is to erase cache manually. But in Internet Explorer even if you erase cache manually, cache index.dat file stores Internet surfing information. This file keeps a total record of every website you visit. And this file is locked, so you can't delete it by hand.
