How to change AutoComplete Settings

The AutoComplete feature makes it easier for you to automatically fill in web forms. You can choose whether to use AutoComplete for web addresses, form field and passwords, or not.
This article describes how to change the AutoComplete settings in Internet Explorer and Firefox.

How to change the AutoComplete settings in Internet Explorer.
The Internet Explorer AutoComplete settings can be changed by the following steps.
Internet Explorer 9/8:
• Select "Tools"
• Select "Internet Options".
• Open the "Content" tab.
• Under AutoComplete, click the "Settings" button.
• In the "AutoComplete Settings" window select what information your browser will remember - check or uncheck the AutoComplete options you need (Web Address, Forms, User names and passwords on forms) and click OK.
Web addresses - enable or disable AutoComplete for the address bar.
Forms - enable or disable AutoComplete for web form fields. This option can be helpful for users who need to frequently fill out fields such as name, e-mail, etc.
User names and passwords on forms - enable or disable AutoComplete for web forms with usernames and passwords.

Clear All History clears cache, cookies, and browsing history in Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Internet Explorer and Opera automatically


Change AutoComplete settings in Internet Explorer 6.x:
• Select "Tools"
• Select "Internet Options".
• Open the "Content" tab.
• Click the "AutoComplete" button and check or uncheck the AutoComplete options you need.
• Click OK.

How to change the AutoComplete settings in Firefox
• Click on the Firefox button.
• Select "Options".
• Select the "Privacy" tab.
• Set "Firefox will" to "Use custom settings for history".
• If you don't want Firefox to remember what you have entered into form fields, remove the check mark for Remember search and form history. This will also prevent Firefox from storing search history for the Search bar.
• Click OK.
